We need….
Acquisitions Volunteers
We need volunteers to come Thursday and/or Friday of each week to record new item acquisitions to our collections and to document the historical anecdotes that accompany donated items. Other tasks may include updating our written records onto a computer database and redesigning/implementing revisions to the website for the Maple Valley Historical Society.
Training will be provided.
Museum Docents
We need volunteers to come on 1-2 Saturdays of each month to manage the Gibbon Store Museum and the Fire Engine Museum during open hours by conducting knowledgeable tours and offering information about the Historical Society and its services.
Training will be provided.
Event Volunteers
We need volunteers to participate in many of our yearly events. Tasks might include set-up/take down, manning information booths, and various organizational projects. We always need volunteers but the nature of our need will shift throughout the year and volunteers are not required to participate when time and ability do not allow it.
Board Members
We need board members to help direct the operation and organization needs of the Historical Society. We meet once a month (first Tuesday at 6:30PM). This position will help with the direction of the organization for years to come.
Maintenance Help

We need someone to occasionally do some maintenance in our buildings. It would involve changing furnace filters occasionally and other duties as needed. Must be able to climb ladders.
